Reed HOF

Congratulations are in order for Pacific High School baseball coach Jeff Reed, who is being inducted to the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame this weekend. He is one of only 3 inductees in the Class of 2024, which includes one posthumous honoree. The ceremony is set for 12 PM Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Capital Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City, MO.

The 2024 season will mark Jeff Reed’s 28th at the helm for PHS. Reed and the Indians are coming off a 2023 season that saw them reach the 20 win mark with a record of 20-11.  The team also won the 4-Rivers Conference, going undefeated in 7 conference games.

“Pacific has a longstanding tradition of fielding strong baseball teams, and having once been a player here, I felt a connection to this legacy. Returning to contribute and uphold this tradition to the best of my ability has been a personal mission,” said Reed.

Since taking over the program in 1996-97, Reed has amassed an impressive 378-206 career record for a .647 winning percentage. The program has won the 4-Rivers Conference 12 times, earned 5 district and 4 sectional titles, and finished 3rd place at State in 2005.  The PHS teams coached by Reed have had over 50 players go on to play college baseball.  Two players have been drafted, and 3 other players have signed and played minor league baseball.

Reed continued, “Throughout this journey, I've been fortunate to be accompanied by outstanding assistant coaches, and our program has been graced by the presence of some exceptional players. I consider myself truly blessed to be a part of this remarkable program.”

During the summers, Reed coached the Midwest Prospects/Rawlings Prospects from 2000-2013. During those years he got the opportunity to coach several major league players and D-1 athletes. The 2013 team had 9 players drafted.
