Congratulations to the 2023 MVR-III Spelling Bee winners! Each year, students in fourth through sixth grade classrooms compete to participate in the District Spelling Bee. Building and grade-level winners met at the Pacific High School auditorium on March 13 to face off against other MVR-III representatives.
The fourth grade district champion was Owen Austin from Coleman Elementary. Second place went to Miles Vago from Robertsville Elementary, and third place was Adalyn Bennett of Coleman.
The fifth grade district champion was Daisy Fearn, with Tyler Whitlock finishing in second place and Salvador Herrera in third.
In the sixth grade competition, the district champion was Myia Johnson, second place winner was Peyton Goebel, and third place went to Spencer Diekmann.
East Central College will host the Regional Spelling Bee at 8 AM Saturday, April 29. Owen Austin will represent MVR-III as our elementary champion, and Daisy Fearn will advance as our middle school champion. Check out www.eastcentral.edu/bee for more information.
